Bruce Wayne, aka Batman (don’t tell anyone the secret, okay), is a person like all of us. That means it’s his birthday just like yours, and in honor of his upcoming birthday, WB Games is promoting a big sale on…Gotham Knights. You know, the game where Batman dies in the first 20 minutes and you don’t play as him at all. Hm.
In case you’re wondering: Batman/Bruce Wayne’s in-universe birthday is officially February 19th. Or not? If you do even a little search on the internet, you will quickly find that such exist a few different dates given for the superhero’s B-Day, including the days of April, June and October. However, in recent years, DC and Warner Bros seem to have settled on February 19 as the true and official birthday of Gotham’s Crusaders. Bats must be disappointed that it’s another birthday; He probably suffocated there for a while in parties and gifts.
Whatever the case, with February 19 fast approaching, WB Games and DC are joining in the celebration of the Dark Knight’s birthday a big sale on Steam. And to promote this sale, they’ve plastered the store with ads wishing Bruce a happy birthday while also announcing a big discount on it Gotham Knights aka the game that kills him right at the start.
To be fair to WB Games and DC, there are plenty of other Batman-related games and DLCs on offer too. So it’s not only Gotham Knights embarrassingly reduced to the festival weekend of the bat. Still, I’m wondering if anyone unfamiliar with it Gotham Knights will end up buying it thinking it’s a cool new one Batman adventure, only to find that it isn’t.
Here are some of the other games on offer during this birthday breakout, along with their normal Steam prizes.
- Batman: Arkham Collection – $9 ($60)
- Batman: Arkham Origins – $5 ($20)
- Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition – $5 ($20)
- Injustice 2 Legendary Edition – $9 ($60)
- Lego Batman Trilogy Pack – $5 ($50)
- Lego DC Super Villains – $6 ($40)
- Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure $5 ($20)
And hey, Batman, maybe the best gift of all was getting you to skip Gotham Knights?
