A gamer recently put together some footage on the game’s subreddit highlighting how remarkable the discrepancy is and how insane. First discovered by VG247, the M5 missile launcher fights to destroy the tank in three rounds over 14 seconds, while the armor-piercing sniper rifle eliminates the threat in four shots and just under eight seconds.
A couple of things happen here. For starters, the NWT-50 won’t unlock until level 60, which means it’ll still be out of reach for most gamers and at the same time should probably feel damn cool once unlocked.
The M5, on the other hand, is available to everyone at the beginning of the game, but is the only ground missile launcher in it. Some players have claimed that they have a lot of fun blasting infantry points and you can occasionally do the fatal blow to a vehicle
But I just didn’t have much fun with it, precisely because there is nothing more emptying than unloading multiple missiles into a tank and not even seeing it catch fire. I haven’t unlocked the NWT-50 yet, but I tested the standard sniper rifle and it still destroyed the tank in just 16 seconds or two more than the player in the video above with the M5.
Would it be better What if the M5 were a beast that all 124 players could roll around with in a match at the same time? Probably not! But even what’s going on in the video above isn’t ideal, especially considering that how much of it Battlefield 2042‘s current Conquest and Rush modes are snipe festivals to start with. Add it to the list of resuscitation errors, hit detection problems and spawn glitches.
At least the tanks are fun although.
