Borderlands 3 second expansion analysis [REVIEW]

analysis, Borderlands, Expansion, Review

The second expansion of Borderlands 3 brings us straight to the wedding anniversary of Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs, so as you can imagine, with both characters involved it wasn't a normal wedding. In fact, they put it right away, when the couple invited us to the planet Xylourgos for their special day and not long after that things started to go wrong.

This marriage is therefore the basic principle of Weapons, love and tents, behind its title hides an adventure that is clearly inspired by Lovecraft, filled with more hidden events and tabernacles than we've ever seen without the title of Cthulu. The idea on paper is really good, and you get the best thanks of Borderlands 2 & # 39; s Gaige for coming back to host this wedding. Her personality reminds us a lot of Tina Chiquitina, in the same series, and she does nothing but improve all the conversations in which she is involved (even more so with the addition of Spanish).

However, we don't think Gearbox has invested in all these exciting things as it could have. Elasticity has many advantages, but it never fails. We could have a dreamy bachelor party and then have a fun wedding full of unexpected and exciting adventures. However, instead, the subject of marriage is straightforward and only manages to be the center of attention and thanks to other conversations. Also, aside from the conversations with the characters in the play, marriage is behind the action, and it's a pity.

So anyone who has ever played Borderlands 3 before will bring nothing new. They provide us with a large open space, which we can cross with our cars, and roads where enemies will appear before we finally meet the employer, depending on where we have to shoot enough ammunition to bite the dust. Granted, we shouldn't have complained about this, as we know exactly what Borderlands 3 has to offer, but previous private tours provided smaller stories that were more appealing and offered more variety.

Borderlands 3

In fact, we just have to take a look at Moxxi & # 39; s Blow to Jackpot the Handsome and we'll have an example of what we mean. A well-crafted heist, great storytelling, surprises and many familiar comics in the Borderlands. It always gave the impression that we were involved in something great, not to mention the diversity of nature. Now we just go through the purple areas that don't lack that extra element, we face the same enemies over and over again and finally get to the last challenge or, better yet, its absence.

Difficulty has always been a pervasive problem in every major game, but in Weapons, Love and Tents it is very easy to move on and sometimes make sense. The only real challenge we encountered in our game was to fight a boss who could be considered a sponge, because both lives and shield were obtained while we spent all our ammunition with that bastard. The hardest thing was surviving when reloading the shoe, because some of the rolling rocks flew at high speed and we had to jump, which sometimes forced us to stop reloading. However, it does not take much accuracy to make this jump quickly and efficiently. We are likely to die a few times and get very upset, especially if we play alone and have to do all the rest of the times, not as a team player and can continue to fight with their partners, who almost seems to have a point of recovery.

There may be too many complaints for such a bad extension. It takes ten hours to finish the story and the sidelines, and after all, the road is fun and the jokes it presents are exactly what Borderlands fans are, much more than we can say. from some recent additions that often have a new character and, well, multiplayer mode. The fact is that we have an incredible amount of content for what we should.

However, unfortunately, it is not enough. The wedding theme hasn't grown well, the design is boring and in the end, we were expecting a lot, especially considering the amazing splendor that released Borderlands 2, and its predecessor, Moxxi & # 39; s Blow goes to Jackpot the Handsome. So while fans are sure to enjoy it, because it's fun after all, this additional content may be just too much.
