Bungie needs to be stopped.
On Friday the destiny 2 developer announced via Twitter that it takes now pre-orders for a new plush from the universe of destiny 2. But unlike the surprisingly adorable Fallen Hatchling plushie from 2021, or even that ghost plush The studio sold, the latest squishy friend available on the Bungie store is an absolute nightmare.
This is the screeb, now made of polyester instead of zombified flesh:
This toy is an abomination (not to be confused with abominations, another equally disturbing enemy type in Destiny), is alarming to look at and very soft looking. It also costs $30.
For those unfamiliar with screebs, let me bring you up to speed. First added in 2018 The Forsaken In the expansion, Screebs are enemies belonging to the mutant/undead subfamily of traps called Scorn. The in-game versions have lots of arms (just like the plush), creepy udders (also just like the plush), and explode if they get too close (hopefully nothing like the plush).
These creeps are the absolute worst, are great at ruining flawless runs and love to crawl around dark corridors so they can tear you and themselves to pieces. They are like Creepers from Minecraft if creepers were spiders too.
But when you turn one of these nasty freaks into a stuffed animal, it turns out to be downright cute to look at; Even if it looks like a tiny airbag or looks like Randy in his puffy coat a Christmas Story
Still, they’ve managed to pick one of the most disturbing of the enemies that the Bungie Merch team could turn into a cuddly friend you could possibly gift to a young child. Here’s hoping The Witness – the series’ big villain, who is a collection of souls from a long-extinct race, is represented by billowing smoke trailing behind him and looking vaguely like Megamind – isn’t up for the plush treatment next.
