Doduo, the twin bird Pokémon from Kanto, is found in the wild Pokemon Go. Yes, Doduo can be shiny Pokemon Go!
Doduo and his big brother Dodrio are fuzzy and neat but don’t see much meta relevance at all. If you’re still missing these in your Pokédex, you’ll want to grab them, but otherwise they’re of no use. 🙁 Sad.
What is the shiny rate for Doduo in Pokémon Go?
According to old research by the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), the shiny rate for Pokémon is about one in 500 on a normal day. Doduo is not a Pokémon that gets a “perma boost” (meaning it’s a rare spawn and therefore gets an increased shiny rate).
What can I do to attract more Shiny Pokémon?
Unfortunately not much. It seems to be a coincidence. Shiny Pokemon catch rates are set by developer Niantic and usually only increase during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones, or during Legendary Raids. There are no consumable items that increase the rate of Shiny Pokemon.
Where can I find a list of available Shiny Pokemon?
LeekDuck holds a list of the Shiny Pokemon currently available. It’s a helpful visual guide that illustrates what all of the Shiny Pokemon in existence look like.
