While Ethan Winters the new face of resident Evil Series we still haven’t seen his actual face. And it doesn’t look like that will change if Resident Evil Village starts on May 7th.

In a way, it makes sense that we wouldn’t see much of Ethan in the gameplay trailers. Goods intended to Be After all, Ethan. That is the whole point in the first person perspective. Still, I had to laugh when I noticed that Capcom even hid it in promotional materials. It’s almost like Ethan goes out of his way to keep his face a secret.

And this one that is part of a new batch released after Capcom’s showcase earlier this week. You’re going to have to see the great vampire to defeat her in a knife fight, Ethan.
This third and final image was not released in the US, but I saw it spread like in Japanese stores 4Gamer. It’s more understandable than the others – Ethan’s face would be obscured with a telescopic sight, of course – but in context it’s just another example of the length Capcom will ensure we never see our protagonist closely.
I vaguely remember fans coming up with theories when Resident Evil 7 What was new was that Ethan’s face was never shown because he was going to be an important character we already knew. Some people even thought he might be a clone of Chris Redfield or something ridiculous. Nowadays I’m glad it’s a running gag among the developers. No stupid storylines necessary.
