A video game store called gamecoin Joplin, Missouri was completely devastated over the weekend when a car drove right through the front wall and plowed through several storage racks, tires squealing the whole time.
Pocketoid And CRT pixels‘ Jordan Starkweather shared video of the crash – it’s his local game store – on Saturday, which you can see below in a video best viewed with the sound on:
As Starkweather explains on Twitter, the driver in the video was “the grandparent of the person who swerved” (you can see a man on the left side of the screen stepping aside just before the hit) and appears to have been having been parked out front and accidentally reversed in
After talking to the lady behind the wheel, Gameco employees say She told them that “the throttle was stuck” and that “she had to smack it into the drive to make it stop reverse or she would have gone through the whole building”. They also say that although she was “very upset and embarrassed,” they told her, “Nobody got hurt and that’s all [mattered]. Everything else can be replaced. can’t live.’

The cases that went through were mostly the store’s 3DO and PS1 collection – this is an independent games store that deals in a lot of cool retro stuff, not a GameStop – although luckily most of the games themselves were in storage, just the cases damaged .
Incredibly, this is the second time this has happened to the store, with the first instance occurring at their old location. A photo taken after the accident shows that the car is in surprisingly good condition apart from a shattered rear window. In better shape than the Xbox cases crushed under the wheels, anyway.
While this would be devastating news for any local retailer – especially since it is the case it happened for the second time– the Gameco employees at least seem to take it easy post on facebook “Okay guys, we get it, you want a GAMECO drive-thru!”.
The store will remain closed until repairs are complete, but once they’re done you can check them out Here.
