One of the earliest highlights of season three will be the new weapons. In the start week Black Ops Cold War and War zone will receive the PPSH-41 submachine gun, a fast-firing weapon perfect for recharging in combat; the Swiss sniper rifle K31, a repeating rifle with high damage and impressive speed; and the return of the ballistic knife, a spring action knife, and the Call of Duty series favorite. Both games will also get a few more weapons this season, including the CARV.2 tactical rifle, the AMP 63 SMG, and even a good old-fashioned baseball bat.

On the War zone Page, Season 3 will also begin with a massive event to solve Verdansk’s zombie problem. The post itself is pretty vague about the specifics of the event, but it does remind players to be online on April 21st at 3pm EDT to see what happens. If this event is really about the nuclear launch, teased and leaked, it could lead to massive Verdansk changes for the new season.

To the Black Ops Cold WarSeason 3 has plenty of new multiplayer maps for players to check out. Starting week, the new season will be Yamantau, a 6v6 map that plays in a snow-covered Soviet observatory, and Diesel, a small town in America that plays for 6v6 games and gunfight. Later in the season, fans get access to Standoff, a classic black Ops 2 Card and Duga, a multi-team card in the Urals. Black Ops Cold War will also get Price as a new operator for fans who miss out on one of the most famous characters in Call of Duty.

Of course, Season 3 will also feature some new Zombies content specifically for Outbreak Mode. With the start of the season, a new region will be added to the Duga mode, the same map that will be available in multiplayer later in the season.

Treyarch also revealed the file size required for the patch for both of them Black Ops Cold War and War zone-only players. The season 3 update will be between 8 and 13 GB for Black Ops Cold War and around 25 GB for War zone Player. The Season 3 update will be released on April 22nd.
