Controversial YouTuber Benjamin “Ruben Sim” Simon has been banned from the gaming platform Roblox after allegedly leading an in-game “cybermob” to harass its mostly younger player base with racial and homophobic slurs and some sexual harassment as well. According to the Oakland, CA court that issued the year-long executive order, Simon constituted a terrorist threat against the gaming company and its community.

Simon was originally sued by Roblox Corporation in November 2021 for $160,000 in damages, an amount that was eventually reduced to $150,000, according to court documents igamesnews. Simon posted a video on YouTube last week in response to the news and argued against the characterization in the allegations in court.
Since Roblox It’s free to join and download, it’s fairly easy to create a new account and bypass a ban – unless the game results in an IP ban. According to igamesnews
Along with his court-ordered ban and fine, Simon did it agreed not to gain access to the platform, make false statements about the game and its staff, go near its offices, or make “false threats of terrorist activity related to Roblox
The final point came after a message Simon allegedly made on Twitter alluding to a possible terrorist attack at the Roblox Developers Conference in San Francisco last October. According to the lawsuit, Simon’s tweet resulted in a delay in the event and “a temporary lockdown while local police and private security personnel conducted a search to secure the facility.” Simon was also ordered to remove any of his YouTube videos that violate the court order.
