Talsorian Games told Polygon: “Any person who owns something Cyberpunk 2077 and can now access the “Bonus Content” folder Cyberpunk RED: Easy Mode inside, of course free of charge.”
Without mention, Cyberpunk 2077With Update 2.2, the quick start guide for the tabletop role-playing game was quietly released. Easy Mode features condensed rules and an introductory mission to quickly introduce new players to using dice pools instead of controllers and keyboards. In quick start, players can act as one of five pre-generated characters: the charismatic rocker boy, the deadly Solo, the inventive Tech, the life-saving Medtech and the tough Media. Although the guide offers a brief look at Night City's history and landscape, fans of the video game should feel familiar with the prequel world of Cyberpunk RED.
Although the preview was released at Gen Con in 2019, the full version of Cyberpunk RED originally published alongside Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020. The tabletop game is the latest edition of the original Cyberpunk 2020 Role-playing game (which was released in 1989). The franchise explores the dark sci-fi fiction of an end-stage capitalist techno-future where, according to the game's description, “corporations control the world from their skyscraper fortresses.” Maybe a little on the nose. Set in the year 2045, Cyberpunk RED takes place midway between the events of Cyberpunk 2020 And Cyberpunk 2077.
Polygon has confirmed that the gift is available for PC users. To locate your copy of the PDF file on PC, navigate to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\music\Cyberpunk 2077 Bonus Content”. Polygon couldn't verify how to get the PDF on Xbox or PlayStation, although the spokesperson said it “should have” been confirmed for those platforms as well.
