Bungie added its first real stasis weapon on Tuesday Fate 2: Season of the Splicer Update. After this Beyond the light The expansion added the game’s first element of darkness, stasis. The new Cryosthesia 77K is the first weapon and non-power weapon that deals ice damage. To be the first of everything to be so far in fate 2 Life is already interesting, but Cryosthesia 77K fits in the Kinetic weapon slot, something that weapons with elemental affinities haven’t done since the original fate.
Then Bungie changed Fate 2In the weapon slots of the Forsaken expansion, players have equipped three types of weapons for their guards. The use of force weapons is limited. Heavy ammunition to do tons of damage. Energy weapons can use either primary (very common) or secondary (less common and limited in PvP) ammunition, depending on the weapon type, have elemental affinities such as solar or bow, and do additional damage to shields. After all, kinetic weapons are at the forefront of the guardian, function similarly to energy weapons in terms of ammunition, and do slightly more damage than energy weapons if they don’t have elemental affinity.
While there are perks like Osmosis that temporarily infuse the power of a kinetic weapon with elemental energy, there are no weapons with constant elemental damage in the Kinetic slot. Or didn’t it exist before Cryosthesia 77K. As the first stasis weapon in the game – outside of the Salvation’s Grip grenade launcher Beyond the lightthat lives in the power slot – its placement as a kinetic weapon matters.
With Bungie confirms legendary stasis weapons in season 15 This fall the question arises: “Will all stasis weapons appear in the Kinetic slot?” With a different Darkness subclass and a different element likely to come in Fate 2‘s next expansion, The witch queenOne wonders if elements of this new type will also appear in the Kinetic slot.
Bungie has already broken down the subclass trees into Light Forces – the traditional Arc, Sun, and Void elements – and Dark Forces, which currently only contain stasis. As Bungie adds more elements and more enemies with elemental shields, players will need more tools to deal with them. Customizing an enemy’s elemental shield with an appropriate weapon deals bonus damage and is almost a requirement for most high-level activities.
The unique placement of the Cryosthesia 77K seems to suggest a larger displacement for Fate 2 Weapon slots forward. Instead of kinetics, energy and power, maybe next year we will have darkness, light and power – with force weapons that contain both types of elemental weapons.
This change would certainly add an even more enigmatic feel to the fight, as the Guardians need to communicate closely with their allies to coordinate their weapon loads. Elemental damage in all three slots is reminiscent of the original fatewhere guns like the original doombringer caused arc damage in the primary weapon slot – Bungie later removed this outside of the exotic weapons.
Bungie said there would be more details on Stasis Legendary weapons later that year. With us just a few days after season 14, Bungie was soon able to confirm this new Darkness slot. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Cryosthesia 77K is just some weird duck sitting in the Kinetic slot for a unique reason, but with no particular benefit that this creates, it looks like Destiny’s weapon system is taking one dark Turn.
