Diablo 4 players are being killed by harmless Treasure Imps

Treasure goblins in Diablo IV are not particularly scary or dangerous. In fact, most players get excited when one of these little weirdos appears, as they can’t attack and drop good loot when killed. However, some high level players are itching to appreciate imps as some players believe it is a bug.

Diablo IV is the latest dungeon-crawling entry in Blizzard’s long-running demon-infested franchise. It’s a very good game that I’ve been immersed in for many hours. Secure, I wish the Gothic Horror themed Action RPG had an extra skill slotbut despite that, it’s still one of the best games of 2023. Like every other video game ever made, Diablo IV is not perfect. A typical example of this is when a certain mod in-game becomes harmless unintentionally Treasure Goblins into nuclear weapons that can then kill even the strongest in one fell swoop Diablo characters around.

As reported by IGN And Icy Veins, some Diablo IV Players were unexpectedly destroyed by randomly spawning Treasure Imps. In an examplea high level hardcore character in a nightmare dungeon was wasted just a second after killing one.

Oddly enough, the goblin didn’t attack because he couldn’t, and there weren’t any other enemies or traps in the room. So what happened?

Well clean Diablo IV There are an in-game modifier called Death Pulse which triggers a “deadly pulse of light” shortly after killing a monster. And it seems that players using this mod are completely wiped out by the pulse of light emanating from dead Treasure Imps.

In a normal game, that’s just a fun, temporary setback. But this is extremely frustrating for High level hardcore players because once their character dies, that’s it. There’s no respawning. What an embarrassing and annoying way to bite it.

these strange ones Diablo Killing Treasure Goblins might be a mistake

Some players believe that this is not intentional and that this interaction between Death Pulse and the Goblins is actually a deadly bug. Over at the officer’s Diablo forums, a few other people have shared stories of high level hardcore characters dying from the combination of Death Impulse and Treasure Goblin. For some players, that doesn’t make sense. They believe their characters were strong enough to survive most attacks in the game. Getting a one-hit like this feels broken.

This is further substantiated by what can be seen in the game’s Hall of Fallen Heroes, where all the dead hardcore characters are captured for posterity. It lists the cause of death when killed by a Treasure Goblin’s death pulse as “Killed by Unknown Killer.” Hmmm.

my city Contacted Blizzard for clarification.

While we wait and see if this is indeed an unintentional bug I would suggest hardcore Diablo IV player For now, avoid Treasure Goblins with Death Pulse. No booty is worth your life.

Updated 6/30/2023 4:15pm ET: Blizzard confirmed this my city that this is caused by an error: “This is a known issue that will be fixed in a future patch before the start of Season 1.”
