On July 6, Blizzard announced the first new one Diablo class in almost a decade, confirming that a vampire-themed Blood Knight class will be coming as a mobile spin-off Diablo Immortal on July 13th. This is the first new class introduced in the franchise since 2014 when the Crusader was added Diablo III‘s first extension: reaper of souls.

Many have highlighted the mobile games in particular annoying and predatory loot boxes and microtransactions. While a live stream on Thursday, Blizzard revealed the first details of the upcoming Blood Knight, which it describes as a “middle class” that uses either melee or ranged attacks “depending on your proximity” to enemies.
“This slayer of vampires feeds on the life of his enemies, trapping them in deadly shadows that he summons with cursed power, and relies on his trusty polearm to keep him from danger,” Blizzard explained on its official website. “And if all else fails, they may simply succumb to the unholy abomination within themselves vying for control of their humanity.”
What is a blood knight?
In the tradition of Diablo, vampires bite humans, turning them into dangerous, mindless slaves. However, blood knights are humans who have been bitten by vampires but escape that fate by using a magical artifact that keeps them connected to their humanity. However, all blood knights eventually become thralls. Before that happens, they work together to track down and kill vampires and offer others who have been bitten a choice: join the Blood Knights or die. As you might expect, they can use their vampiric powers to aid them in battle.
Blizzard says so on July 13th Diablo Immortal Players have three options to play as a new class. Option 1: You can create a new character and select “Blood Knight” as their class. Option 2: Players can use Diablo ImmortalClass change feature to transfer your character to the new class. Blizzard will temporarily pause the cooldown on class changes to give everyone a chance to become a Vampire Knight if they so desire.
Finally, players can test the new class as part of a limited-time event: the Crimson Plane. During the event, anyone can play as a Blood Knight and earn Blood Knight cosmetics and other items by completing it.

Will the Blood Knight be added? Diablo IV?
Of course, the question most players have is probably something along the lines of “okay cool, but is this new class (or other classes) going to be added?” Diablo IV?” Perhaps.
Before today, when Blizzard announced all the details about the upcoming Blood Knight Diablo Immortal, Players had already found references to the class inside Diablo IV. It’s possible this was just a nod to the new class coming to the mobile spin-off, but perhaps Blizzard was hinting otherwise. It’s possible the studio has pledged support Diablo IV for years to come will finally bring the vampire-themed warrior to the new game.
Until then you have to play Diablo Immortal Start July 12 to try out the franchise’s first new class in nearly 10 years.
