Disney Lorcanathe new trading card game, which is already fetching wild auction prices even though the rules haven’t even been released yet, will launch later this summer, with Gen Con attendees and local game stores getting their first glimpses of its products.
IGN reported Tuesday morning that the launch for friendly local game stores will be on August 18th in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France, followed by a general retail launch on September 1st. August 3rd to 6th, “select Disney Lorcana
The launch features more than 200 playing cards across multiple products, including standard starter decks and booster packs, as well as special edition products.
According to IGN, that is Lorcana will start with:
- Three different 60-card starter decks. The decks are amber and amethyst; emerald and ruby; and steel and sapphire. Each deck also includes a booster pack of 12 random cards, one of which is a foil and two of which are rare, super rare, or legendary.
- A gift set containing four standard booster packs, two oversized foil cards, two foil playing cards, and tokens.
- The Illumineer’s Trove collector’s set, consisting of eight booster packs, two deck boxes, a game guide, and a storage box.
Lorcana Developer Ravensburger plans to release four sets per year. This summer’s release is called The First Chapter.
Disney Lorcana was first revealed in late August 2022. At the D23 convention in Anaheim a week later, Ravensburger released images of the first seven cards.
