Good news, for honor Ubisoft has announced to gamers that the online action game 2017 will finally receive crossplay support next week as part of the game’s next season of content. Sure, it’s been over five years, but that should help reduce matchmaking times, which is always nice.
On the 10th of March Ubisoft has published a short blog post confirming that crossplay is coming soon for honor
Phase two, which has no release date, will expand crossplay to support private play and group play. According to Ubis oft, such crossplay was chosen because the first phase was finished earlier and the publisher wanted to integrate the feature into the game to improve matchmaking times sooner rather than later.
One thing to keep in mind is that when playing in for honor Crossplay matches, players cannot use voice chat. Ubisoft claims this was due to technical issues that could not be resolved. PC players can still use text chat to communicate with each other, but console players won’t see these messages.
If you don’t want to play with other players on other platforms, Ubisoft allows people to opt out of crossplay. That way you can go back to using voice chat and avoid any PC hacking shenanigans that might pop up. However, Ubisoft warns players that disabling crossplay will likely result in longer matchmaking times as most players will not disable the new feature.
In our post-Fourteen days World, Crossplay has become a more common feature in recent years. What is great! However it is often newer games launched with crossplay support. It’s less common to see an older title how for honorobtain Crossplay support five years after launch. Although it’s not unheard of. For example, this was announced last year Warframe would get full crossplay and cross-save support.
