Every year fans send Valentine chocolates to Square Enix. Some are aimed at characters while others are for the game developers. It’s a way of saying thank you. But this year Square Enix is asking fans to refrain from that.
How Jiji Square Enix reportedly posted a notice on its official website identifying the state of emergency in Japan and the novel coronavirus pandemic as the Reason the Tokyo-based game company asked Fans not to send gifts for Valentine’s Day.
This tradition is not unique to Square Enix: game companies, anime makers and manga publishers receive gifts for Valentine’s Day. For example in the past Manga publisher, Shueisha receive Boxes and boxes of gifts for characters in The prince of tennis.
