Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero When it launched last year, it felt a bit lacking in content. The first DLC pack will remedy the situation. Bandai Namco announced that 11 new playable characters will be joining the arena fighter later this month, including all forms of Gohan and Piccolo since the last version Dragon Ball Film, Superhero.
Early access to DLC1 for Season Pass owners begins on January 20th. We don't have a standalone price yet, but the full season pass for all three initial DLC packs is $35, meaning it will cost at least $15 for those who only own the base game. Here's everything that's included:
- 4 Gohans (Basic, SS, Ultimate, Beast)
- 4 Piccolos (Basic, Awakened, Orange, Giant)
- 2 gammas (base and form 2)
- Cell max
- New little costume
- 3 custom battles
Not including all of Gohan and Piccolo's transformations in the base game may seem stingy to some, but fans are happy to finally get them. “I don't care if this isn't a competitive game, this is the most beautiful Dragon Ball game of all,” wrote one in the comments of the trailer on YouTube.
In addition to the first DLC, Bandai Namco also announced an upcoming limited-time mode “Legendary Warrior Face-Off,” in which players will face off against overpowered AI-controlled opponents. The first will be against Broly. While it's not entirely clear how the mode will work (or why it will only last a short time), players are interpreting it as the fighting game equivalent of an MMO raid, similar to the events in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
Otherwise, the focus is largely on including all characters and transformations introduced in 2022 Dragon Ball Super: Superhero, which gave both Gohan and Piccolo massive power-ups to deal with Cell's return. While DLC2 and DLC3 haven't been fully revealed yet, more additions have been announced Dragon Ball Super and the new Dragon Ball Daima Anime series that recently streamed on Crunchyroll featuring the Z Fighters transformed back into children.
