Today, publisher Bandai Namco confirmed that they will be playable in the starting roster of 164 fighters. Well, most of them, anyway. There’s Super Saiyan 4 Goku, part red monkey, part Rebel without a cause tough and the fusion version of him and Vegeta.
Baby, the alien parasite created by the Truffle civilization before being brutally wiped out by the Saiyans long ago, is also here, as is the form in which he infects Vegeta. And of course, there’s Pan (Goku’s granddaughter), Uub, the human reincarnation of Kid Buu, and Syn Shenron, the evil humanoid form of the wish-granting dragon. In total, there are 15 fighters from the spin-off.
There was Debate for months among the fans about whether the Dragon Ball Z Rejected players would actually make it into the base game. Some love them and others hate them, as they largely see the spin-off as an embarrassing money-making scheme in which series creator Akira Toriyama had little involvement.
