List of key players in the collapse of the E3 conference, the Electronic Software Association (ESA) said on Thursday in the press release to "commit to keeping E3 at the level you expect." The solution is, "shaking things up" and "amazing guests, amazing experiences, access to people inside and reception areas." The statement outlines a plan that began in September 2019 to turn the industrial event into a "media-friendly one."
ESA – inclusive members such as activations Blizzard, Bethesda, Bungie, electronic gaming, Epic Games, Microsoft, Spy PlayStation, Ubisoft, and Wizards of the Coast – posted a confusion last year following numerous public relations disasters. Most notable was the release of personal information thousands of hard working people and members of the E3 publisher came out last year. At the same time, it has been at war with law enforcement and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission on the topic of cheating boxes. All of this has been happening in the face of mounting pressure from President Donald Trump's administration, which has viewed video games as a contributing factor in school shootings.
The E3 unveiling itself has been the ESA's marquee event since its inception in 1995, involving retail partners, industry executives, and the media for a few days in Los Angeles. But the presence of developers and publishers has been flagging for the past several years, prompting ESA to open the event to the public in 2017. Thursday's announcement is a clear attempt to restore confidence among industry stakeholders, while pushing for more community Responsibility for the event.
"We are at the forefront of the development and production of a great and exciting experience to celebrate the culture of gaming in exciting new ways," ESA said. "We will be showing the world E3 to the world through new broadcasts and digital programming while hosting gatherings in theaters that allow people to do what they love … play and celebrate games."
ESA also acknowledged last year's security breach, saying in the media "to lead the trust and support is our top priority," and added that it had worked to secure the security of its subscribers' information.
"We have also built the E3 website with advanced and enhanced security features developed by a company other than cybersecurity," ESA said. “This includes updating our data management processes, including the handling of personally identifiable data, and we will no longer store that data on our site. We've also changed our registration practices and will collect the necessary information to complete your registration. ”
The E3 public registration, which had been running for about $ 250 over three days, begins February 15. The event runs from June 9 to June 11.
