Bethesda confirmed this back in February it shut down its proprietary PC game launcher and would move affected games back to Steam. Now, as we near the May 11th shutdown, Bethesda has started adding some of its classic games to Steam. Some appearing in Valve’s digital storefront for the first time, and three for the cheap price of nothing.
Today, Bethesda has added five classic titles to Steam
- The Elder Scrolls Arena
- The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
- The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard
- An Elder Scrolls legend: Battlespire
- Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
But not only are these now available on Steam, some of them are free. You can grab Elder Scrolls Arena and its continuation dagger case for free. Also, the online multiplayer shooter Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory costs 0 dollars at the moment. And while there’s no indication from Bethesda that these are temporary offers or bugs, I’d suggest grabbing them ASAP just in case someone at Bethesda made a mistake during this big retreat to Steam Has.
The remaining two games don’t cost much more than free, either Red Guard and Battlespire go for $6 each.
my box contacted Bethesda and asked about the free games.

Keep in mind that while all of these games are part of two popular franchises, these are older titles that, in some ways, haven’t aged particularly well. And it doesn’t appear that these classics were fixed by Bethesda prior to this move to Steam. But in general there are many tools and mods that can improve your experience of playing classic PC games.
As a reminder, Bethesda Launcher and Store will be closed forever on May 11th. Starting tomorrow, April 27th, Bethesda will allow players to migrate all of their games and wallets to Steam.
