Ghost of Tsushima devs aren’t making infamous or sly Cooper sequels

Video game companies are notoriously reluctant to share their plans. In a market saturated with sequels and spin-offs, developers still treat each new project with the utmost secrecy. They will seldom even be open about what they are doing are not working on it, but today the PlayStation studio behind Spirit of Tsushima did just that.

As it approaches its 25th anniversary, Sucker Punch has taken the unusual step of letting fans know what not to expect from its next game, ditching rumors of a possible sequel to the superhero sandbox series Notoriousor stealth platformer Smart Cooperhappens shortly.

sucker Punch wrote:

As our games grow in size and complexity, they require our studio’s full attention. As we are focused on our current project we have no plans to visit again inFAMOUS

or Smart Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to these franchises. These characters are very special and we care deeply, so we would never say opening those doors again later, but at the moment there aren’t any inFAMOUS or Smart Cooper games in development.

Previously, some PlayStation fans were inclined to believe the opposite. Hot on the heels of the rumor mill self-proclaimed insider Twitter accounts and mysterious updates of various websites, it seemed like the fan favorites might make a comeback.
