God of War Ragnarok Wishing Well location and reward list

God, list, location, Ragnarok, reward, War, Wishing

God of War Ragnarok is full of surprises, and the wishing well is one of its most interesting mysteries. Located deep in an optional area in northern Vanaheim, this location allows you to trade in some rare crystals for all sorts of rewards – from materials to a brand new armor set.

If you plan to dive into the postgame as well equipped as possible, some of the reward materials from this section are crucial to getting your gear to Rank 9. Therefore, we will tell you how to find the wishing well in God of War Ragnarok and describe any rewards you can get from it.

Where to find the wishing well in God of War Ragnarok?

First, you need access to the Crater, an optional area in Vanaheim. To do this, go through the main story to the main mission “Creatures of Prophecy”. Once you complete it, you can start the Scent of Survival side quest. This mission gives you access to the crater.

Now the crater has an optional area to the south called The Jungle that unlocks the Return of the River side quest. To get there, go to the west side of the plain and then go south. You have to do this during the night, so use the Heavenly Altar if you must. If you go down the path you will see a cave entrance with two dragon head lanterns on each side – this is the spot.

Expect a few enemies inside, and when you’re done, go to the end of the corridor. There is a “window” on the left that is currently blocked by wood. Tear it off and jump onto the platform to get to the jungle area. After a short walk, you will automatically gain access to the Return of the River.

This side quest will take you towards the blocked canyon. It’s a fairly simple ordeal – first you’ll need to mine some vines that prevent you from using an elevator (use Seal Arrows and the Blades of Chaos) to go upstairs. Then throw a spear at the rock on the right wall and detonate it to open a path to squeeze through.

Once in this open area, deal with the enemies in the area and again use Seal Arrows to destroy the vines on the wall. After that’s taken care of, use the mechanism to move the platforms and let the water pass through on the other side. This is a conclusion to Return of the River.

Now remember that ogre that was harassing you near the mystic gate near the jungle entrance? You can now navigate your boat around this platform and actually confront it. This allows you to use a chain and open the gate nearby.

Go through the cave and you’ll end up in the wishing well.

How God of War Ragnarök’s wishing well works

As pretty as the area is, the Wishing Well in God of War Ragnarok is not that complex to use. If you’ve spent any time roaming around the crater and its adjacent regions, chances are you’ve collected some crystalline, a material found only in the northern areas of Vanaheim. Once you have some crystals you can go to the fountain and press the button to throw them in. The game will automatically use whatever you have in our inventory, so you don’t have to repeat the action multiple times each time you visit.

That’s pretty much it! As for the material, you can find crystalline shards around the crater God of War Ragnarok. As a reward, there are a few in the wishing well itself, but most of them are scattered throughout the jungle, plains, and crater proper.

I recommend keeping verticality in mind when looking for these shards, as some will be hanging from ceilings or cave walls. However, most of them are usually within sight – if you spot an orange glow, make sure you break it. The small ones will grant you a Crystalline, while the larger shards will give you a pop at least two of them.

God of War Ragnarök Wishing Well Rewards List

The main use of the wishing well is obtaining Purified Crystalline, so you can actually use the material you gathered from the shards around the crater to craft high tier armor. But that’s far from the only benefit.

Here are all the rewards for using the wishing well God of War Ragnarok:

  • Purified Crystalline
  • Plackart of Fallen Stars (Chest Armor)
  • Bracers of Fallen Stars (Wristguards)
  • Waistguard of the Fallen Stars (Waistguard)
  • Runic Hailstone Knob (axe attachment)
  • Celestial Panacea (Amulet Enchantment)
  • Shiny crystal
  • Luminous crystal
  • Sparkling Crystal
  • Asgardian Ingot
  • Petrified Bone
  • Luminous alloy
  • hacksilver

Again, unless you’ve obtained a ton of Crystalline beforehand, it’s likely that you’ll need to visit the Wishing Well a few times to collect Fallen Stars’ full armor set. Then you can just keep throwing Crystalline whenever you need the above resources plus a ton of Hacksilver.
