I have analyzed many Yakuza games in recent years and saw how Ryu Gotoku Studio has become a world recycling champion of his content. It sounds more difficult than it could be, because there can be an elegance in the repeat, a grace to recognize the player environments, characters and even mechanical. Software fans have been playing practically the same game and weighing up for more than 10 years and continues to give him a certain feeling of freshness. Now we have the latest foundation in the Yakuza family: Like a dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. I played it on the PC, but it will also come out for consoles in a few days.
One of the first things I was looking for was that -Synchronizing English. The developer published several trailers with synchronized actors, but I just couldn't find it in the game. So I had to play with Japanese voices. It is not that this is necessarily a disadvantage, but I am not a quick reader and some of the scenes have changed their dialogue before I could read it. However, I bet that the dialogues in English are ready for the official start, otherwise it is a bit useless. It may not be important for you, or you prefer Japanese voices, but I only say this as a service display so that you know where I come from.
The story begins with Goro Goro. Appear on a beach without having an idea what happened. Classic amnesia, a popular trope. It soon turns out that he is in Hawaii, where he meets a boy named Noel and his little kitten Tigre, Goro. A friendship is founded and Noel teaches Majima La Isla, where he quickly realizes that his goal is to flee to find answers. However, there will soon be problems. A group of pirates attacks, but after a number of battles, Majima defeats the captain, takes his hat and pirate jacket and begins a pirate adventure that we had never seen in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. Everything sounds a bit crazy, even for Yakuza, and that's it, but with the ironic humor that has made the series so unforgettable over the years.

The story is exactly what you would expect from a Yakuza game: a mixture of serious development of the characters and crazy arguments and sometimes acidic. If you expect a more realistic story, this is probably not a game for you. But for those who love the Yakuza series for their crazy mix of action and humor, it is perfect for us.
In contrast to Dragon, the fights are not again here, but they continue The classic Yakuza formula: combos, brutal blows and extreme shots. If you have loved the fighting system of the previous games, you won't be wrong here. Personally, it seemed pure entertainment, especially since they can adapt the configuration to make quick tests more accessible, and there are three levels of difficulty, so that even Yakuza's inexperienced rookie can provide them.
It is incredibly satisfactory to destroy many pirates and end everything with an exaggerated shot. The developer knows how to do it A solid combat system And here he does it again. Fights can sometimes be monotonous because they are constantly finding enemies who want to fight, but that's part of the Yakuza package. If you have played the other games in the series, you know what you want. The question in turn is that developers seem to fight more and more with the way in which the player is constantly increasing, and here the game is limited to throwing many enemies and becoming tired.

In addition to classic battles, there are also Naval battles. Here Ryu Gotoku Studio Ubisoft clearly looked at and borrowed the inspiration of Assassins Creed: Black Flag. You check your ship and navigate through rings to increase speed and intensive naval battles against enemy ships. The ship has three defense mechanisms: cannons on the sides, a machine gun in the bow and a propeller for fast maneuvers. Overcoming the enemy requires a strategy, especially if you have stronger ships that require improvements and better tactics to win. After a successful fight, you can address the ship and defeat the crew, a great mechanics that is never boring and loses your pomp and its splendor.
As always reuse, the developer reused earlier playgrounds. All Hawaii of the predecessor are freely accessible for Majima and his crew, full of business, treasures and seafarers to recruit. There are secondary alcohol with new and well -known faces, and the story is well intertwined with them.
The search for treasures is also an important element. Noel's father was treasurer and you can find treasures on the menu, navigate to you, defeat many enemies and enjoy a dramatic sequence in which Majima opens the chest and a relic flies through the air. These objects offer money and experience that are required for progress in the game. You will also find rings that Majima offer for strength and defense improvements.
In addition to the main story and the secondary ring, there is of course a wealth of minijuegos. Baseball, 'karting' and several new bends. They are perfect for a break from the extensive story, in which the scenes can often take 10 and 15 minutes.
And as always, the developer recorded a lot Fan service. You can unlock sound bands from the past 40 years of Sega, play the classics of the Master system and even embody old protagonists of the series. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio knows what his fans want and get it.
I had a great experience with a kite: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but it shows that the format needs an update. The graphics engine is no longer at the highest level and maybe it is time for the developer to update his game engine. It works as it should, but the characters look a little chopped off. That's why I get a little and I do it because it is, although it is a crazy spin-off. Hopefully this formula will continue to be adjusted in the future.
This means that if you like the Yakuza series, this 'Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii' will also love it. It's crazy, full of action and addicted how it should be. I am impatient to see what the next one is, what Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega occurs, but I think I will recognize many things in him as in this game, and that's very good.
