Arrowhead Game Studios enjoyed passing some along difficult and momentous major orders for the Helldivers 2 Community to beat, but the latest version could be one of the trickiest yet. You see, in large-scale missions the tendency is to focus the entire player base on a single goal or series of goals, such as killing billions of bugs, Eradication of the robot automatonsor Liberation of an embattled planet. Everyone contributes to a single milestone and is rewarded upon completion. Otherwise everyone will fail, but at least they fail together. Now for the first time Helldivers 2 Players must decide whether they want to liberate two different planets or whether they want to choose one over the other only Unlock one of two Stratagem for the community.
To be clear, the latest Grand Order accuses players of freeing both Choohee and Penta, but loudly Helldivers 2‘s narrative, only the cunning of the first one to be freed will be able to be saved. First, players must liberate Lesath, a planet in the same cluster as Choohee and Penta. The players then have access to the other two planets to fight on. At this point the real battle will begin. If the community frees Choohee first, they will unlock the MD-17 anti-tank mines as a stratagem to use in the middle of a mission. If they instead choose to free Penta first, everyone in the game will receive the RL-77 Airburst Missile Launcher. While Community rarely completely parallel and on the same page, this is the first time the developers have intentionally separated them.
Discussions are already underway in various areas Hell diver Forums, and things are more heated than I expected. When given a choice between an active and passive weapon, such as the difference between a rocket launcher you fire and mines you queue, I think most people choose the active weapon. Check out some of the answers on Hell diver Tweet, sentiment seemed to be leaning that way, but elsewhere passionate players are making the case for the alternative, and both have some arguments.
On the one hand, the airburst missile launcher could be an effective anti-aircraft weapon that would prove useful against air defense flying beetles and robots Attack helicopters that are now plaguing Helldivers 2 Player. On the other hand, mines are really good at taking out heavily armored ground units, which players may need when their focus inevitably turns back to the automatons and their incredibles beefy tanks and hikers. Having more mines could be helpful when taking out swarms of insects or when clear out their nests So there are good reasons for players to go both ways on this major contract. Unfortunately for Helldivers 2 Player, the choice is not that easy.
As a nice touch, players can visit both planets and try out their respective “experimental strategies” to make the choice a little easier. In addition, there are still a few days until the major order expires, so there is enough time to jump back and forth between the two planets and try out new things Stratagem.
