Those who lament the approaching end house of the dragon‘s first season on HBO can keep calm: Game of Thrones cDirector George RR Martin confirmed that the prequel series will consist of four seasons, with each season containing ten episodes.
The author confirmed the message in a Personal blog post, which is also full of musings about professional football. (He’s a New York Giants fan and
“It will take four full seasons of ten episodes each to do Dragon Dance from start to finish,” said George RR Martin.
Aside from that one tidbit of information, George RR Martin mostly just gets poetic about the series and compliments several of the creators. He said he thinks Ryan Condal handled various time jumps on the show “very, very well,” although some characters could be fleshed out more.
“I mean, I can’t really rate the show, that would be crazy, I’m hardly objective…but I want to commend Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik and the cast and crew for the job they did. Episode from Sunday'[The] Lord of the Tides’ was everything I hoped for.”
