Pokémon Trading Card Game Bag offers players numerous opportunities to express themselves. Even if you prefer to use a meta deck during games, you can still represent yourself with emblems or your favorite card. Another way to stand out is your profile icon. Although you only have six to choose from initially, with a bit of luck you can more than double your selection.

There's a good chance that in between fighting or using Wonder Trades, you've come across someone with a new icon. Unfortunately, the game doesn't outwardly tell you how to unlock more symbols. The existence of some of these is mentioned in detail in some menus, and a few more are secrets that require real dedication to score.

We've identified two ways to unlock more Pokémon Trading Card Game Bag Symbols: Complete Dex missions or buy them in the shop. Both methods have some limitations, which we discuss in more detail below.

Let's start with the Dex missions. You can find these by tapping the Missions button at the bottom right of the home or battle screen. You'll be taken to the Genetic Apex Dex Missions screen, but you'll want to look back to the bottom right and tap the Theme Collections button. At the end of this list you will find a handful of missions that reward you with an icon. These are the icons and associated missions for the Genetic Apex expansion:

  • Electrode Symbol: Collect 3 Electrode Cards
  • Gardevoir Symbol: Collect 5 Gardevoir cards
  • Charizard Symbol: Collect 5 Charizard Cards
  • Mewtwo Symbol: Collect 5 Mewtwo Cards

In addition to the above, there are a number of symbols exclusive to a secret mission. Registering 226 cards in the Dex will reveal a new mission. Completing it unlocks icons for Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Charizard. Although that's a lot of cards to register, only those with Diamond rarity are counted. You don't have to collect the rarer star or crown cards with full illustrations. The Packpoint exchange system can reduce the time for each of these missions, although it will be particularly useful to use it to complete the Dex.

The second method is to purchase icons from the shop. So far these appear to be limited to events and can be missed. A Meowth icon was available in the second part of a Wonder Pick event that took place in the first half of November. It could also only be exchanged for exclusive event shop tickets, which of course had expired. Aside from promo pack cards tied to the most FOMO-inducing cards the game currencies makes these symbols particularly rare, so keep an eye out for them when they appear in the shop.

How to change your profile icon

The Select Symbol screen shows seven different symbols and highlights one of Electrode.

Luckily, changing your profile icon is easy. On the Home screen, tap the small round image of your current icon at the top. This will take you to your profile page, where you can customize options like your player name or featured cards. Tap the larger image at the top to bring up the Choose Icon menu. You can now switch between the initial six profile icons or the ones you were given.

I want to emphasize that this menu only shows what has been unlocked so far. There are no convenient grayed out icons or anything like that to indicate that you may need to unlock more. Be sure to stay up to date with events and open boosters whenever possible to add more symbols to your selection.

We can assume that unlocking occurs Pokémon Trading Card Game Bag In the future, symbols will work similarly to how they work now. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they add some of these to the shop permanently, or perhaps mix them up with different types of missions. In the meantime, if you need help in combat, we've put together a list of the following options for you Cards to support any deck at all.
