Shortly after meeting Igon, you will be Ancient Dragon Man Ghost. Defeat the intruder and continue south until you reach the Dragonpit Dungeon.
How to complete the Dragon Pit dungeon
After entering the dungeon, you will discover a new place of grace, the Dragon Pit. This dungeon cave is filled with skeletal beastmen that will ambush you and resurrect after being knocked down. The Dragon Pit is also home to a Magma Wyrm that drops a Dragon Heart and an Ancient Dragon Forgestone when defeated.
To escape from the dragon pit, you must take a leap of faith into a huge open pit in front of a candlelit altar. Jumping into the pit is safe and leads to a boss fight in the dungeon against the physical form of the ancient dragon man.
After defeating the old dragon man, you will receive the Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana Weapon. You’ll be given a teleporter that will take you back to the entrance of Dragon’s Pit, and a series of doors you’ll need to go through to get to the region at the base of Jagged Peak and the Dragon’s Pit Terminus Site of Grace.
Defeat the Jagged Peak Dragon
Shortly after reaching the base of Jagged Peak, the first of many dragon fights takes place.
The Jagged Peak Drake boss fight is optional, but it rewards you with a Dragon Heart, Dragon Scale Meat, and a large number of runes. It’s also good practice for all the other dragon fights you’ll soon be taking on.
Find the Great Altar of the Dragon Communion and speak to the Priestess of the Dragon Communion
South of the Jagged Peak Drake Boss Arena is another Place of Mercy, the Great Altar of the Dragon Communionand his companion, the Priestess of the Dragon Communion. Speak to the priestess and she will offer you a choice: “Consume the dragon essence” or “Do not participate.” Choose to consume the dragon essence and the priestess will reward you with a new consumable, the Blessing of the Old Dragon.
The Blessing of the Ancient Dragon consumes a small amount of FP to increase all forms of damage neutralization. The Blessing of the Ancient Dragon is a single-use item, but the Priestess of the Dragon Communion will give you replacements upon request. Don’t be afraid to use the Blessing or refill it.
If you visit the Priestess of the Dragon Communion at night, you can give her Thiollier’s Brew to put her to sleep, which is the only way you can finally unlock the summoning of her Spirit Ash.
Defeat the Jagged Peak Drake duo and find Igon
After speaking to the Priestess of Dragon Communion, head back north to the Jagged Peak dragon arena, then head northeast, up the mountain and across a bridge to reach the base of Jagged Peak. Continue up the mountain until you come to a pair of dragons battling each other.
Just wait on the edge of the battle until one of the dragons dies and the other is sufficiently injured by the dead dragon. Defeat the remaining dragon to receive a Dragon Heart, Dragon Scale Meat, and a large number of runes.
After the fight, you will see Igon again, just east of the Dragon Duo arena. Talk to him and he will give you Igon’s curled fingeran item that allows you to summon Igon during the fight against Bayle the Terrible. You do not need to equip Igon’s Furled Finger; if you simply have it in your inventory, the Summoning Mark for Drake Warrior Igon appear in the Bayle fight.
Defeat the ancient dragon Senessax
After speaking to Igon, continue east and further up Jagged Peak, taking advantage of the spirit springs and avoiding an environmental hazard: giant rolling boulders.
At some point you will come across Ancient Dragon Senessax as you ride up Jagged Peak. This fire-breathing, lightning-channeling primal dragon will look familiar if you’ve faced off against Lich Dragon Fortissax and Primal Dragon Lansseax. When fighting Primal Dragon Senessax, stay on Torrent for as long as possible and use the steed’s quick movements to get behind the dragon and double jump past its ground-based lightning attacks.
For defeating the Ancient Dragon Senessax you will receive an Ancient Dragonforge Stone and a Dark Ancient Dragonforge Stone.
Face Bayle the Terrible
After battling the Ancient Dragon Senessax, continue on to Jagged Peak, using three more spirit springs to reach the summit. You’ll find another Place of Grace, Jagged Peak Summit, located just outside of Bayle the Dread’s boss arena.
If you wish to summon the Dragon Warrior Igon, you must do so within the arena itself after passing through the fog wall. The Dragon Warrior Igon’s golden summoning shield is located immediately to the left as you enter Bayle’s arena.
You’ll probably need all the help you can get when you face Bayle the Terrible, a boss fight that will test your skills and patience. Fire rings camera. Since Bayle uses a lot of fire-based attacks, you’ll want to equip your best fire protection. You’ll also want to use your Elder Dragon’s Blessing to reduce your damage, and use any Frost or Scarlet Rot-inflicting weapons to reduce Bayle’s health. If you’re having trouble, our guide on how to beat Bayle the Terrible can help you out.
If you defeat Bayle, you will receive the Heart of Bayle Item: a new type of dragon heart.
