If Death Stranding is not your usual Hideo Kojima Mood, it sounds like Kojima Productions is working on something more like this Metal Gear Solid. During the Game Status At the presentation, which took place on January 31, Kojima, together with Sony’s Hermen Hulst, announced a new action-spy project called Physint.

Although no footage or graphics were shown, Kojima explained that the game will be from a new, original IP and full development will begin after delivery by Kojima Productions Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The team announced during the presentation that the sequel will be released in 2025. Kojima says that while the game will be, well, a game, it is “at the same time a film in terms of look, story, theme, cast. Acting, fashion and tone.” What does that actually mean? We don’t know, because Kojima just tells us to “stay tuned” for more information as he and Hulst leave a film set.

Whatever this game is, it sounds like Kojima is collaborating with Sony for it, even praising the PlayStation company’s music and film departments as part of the project. It was not specified whether this means Physint however, will eventually become a PlayStation exclusive. Kojima concludes the announcement by saying that this next project will be “the culmination of.” [his] work.” Check out the video below:

While Physint is probably still a long way off, Kojima Productions is also working on a third game at the same time Death Stranding 2. The team revealed OUT OFan Xbox exclusive game in collaboration with Exit Director Jordan Peele, at the Game Awards 2023. So Kojima and his team are very busy at the moment. Further information can be found in the almost 10 minute long trailer with hand masks, stop-motion puppets and Troy Baker fighting people with a guitar.
