That resident Evil series is arguably the most successful and popular video game horror franchise of all time. It has spawned more movies, spin-offs, and comics than I can count, and has easily gotten its way into mainstream pop culture as “those zombie games with dogs”. But not all resident Evil
Games are amazing. So it’s time to grab our shotguns, green herbs, and typewriter ribbons and sort all of the main series games from worst to best.
So basic rules. For this list, we’ll only focus on the series’ main games, so spin-offs like Revelations
and Dead target get a stay of execution. We also only judge the original publications. So while I love the remake of Resident Evil 2,
I’m not going to rave about it here today. Finally, we’re also staying away from multiplayer and handheld titles. This is a list of the numbered games only (with two exceptions that fans are likely to be able to predict).
With all of that out of the way, let’s start with the worst mainline resident Evil Game.
