M3GAN has already taken the world by storm, with the film garnering huge box offices and the title character becoming one Breakout gay icon in the making. So it’s no surprise that we’re already getting official confirmation of a M3GAN Consequence. the new movie, M3GAN 2.0brings back the same cast and is scheduled for release on January 17, 2025 Malignant Screenwriter Akela Cooper returned to rewrite the screenplay.
Luckily, if you don’t want to wait two years for more M3GAN, said screenwriter Akela Cooper the Los Angeles Times that an unrated version of the film could be on the way and that it’s “a lot gorier” than the PG-13 theatrical version.
Cooper didn’t say how much the unrated version would change, but she did divulge a few details, including the fact that it was supposed to contain a lot more murder.
“[M3GAN’s] The body count in the script was much higher than in the film. It wasn’t Gabriel [in Malignant]Massacre on a large scale, but she killed a few more people,” Cooper said.
It stands to reason that a version with a much higher body count could also significantly increase the gore content in the PG-13 film and bring it closer to the same level Malignant.
There are no concrete plans or details for the unrated version yet. Cooper told the LA Times she heard it was “in the books,” but Universal itself hasn’t said anything about new versions of the film. Thank God, M3GAN
