Back in February it was announced the Mass Effect Legendary Edition was not there All in the trilogy because the source code for a single piece of old DLC—Pinnacle station, which we checked again 2009– was lost.
At the time, Game Director was Mac Walters told Game informers that since the code was lost if BioWare added the DLC to the game, it would have taken BioWare six months to create it from scratch, a huge expense for a tiny piece of DLC that they absolutely would not invest in.
“I wish we could do it,” he said. “To be honest, just because this is supposed to be everything the team has ever created, brought back together – all of the single-player content. And so it was heartbreaking to leave everything on the cutting room floor. ”
It gets even more heartbreaking that BioWare actually reached out to Demiurge, the studio in charge of the DLC, and was told that some backups of the code existed and that they would send them out directly. But “when the backups for the code sent contained almost all of the corrupted data, important links were even missing.”
Ah great! While the retail release of Legendary edition was missing Pinnacle station, you can now thanks this modwhich not only puts the DLC back in the collection, but also ensures that it is an updated version of the original content, smoothed out with adjusted difficulties, added music and sound effects, and some other 2009 era roughness.
