It’s pretty difficult to keep track of which last-gen games want to update for your fancy modern consoles, which is why I tattoo every bite of information on my face. When I first looked in the mirror this morning, I noticed that it was today if Metro exodusBig free upgrade is coming.
In fact, the version of the Xbox appeared to be released by accident a day too early, yesterday, and already brings reports that it is so not so good with the S series. The PS5 is getting its version today when it should. Oi Xbox, no insertion.
The update was first announced in February, and was possibly the most comprehensive (or at least comprehensive) remastering of the current generation to date. The headline was the addition of ray tracing to both versions of the consoles and to the PCs. PC got its version again in early May, but Developer 4A has always been a kind of PC-first variety and of course didn’t have certification hoops to jump through before getting it out there.
For reasons known only to ancient ancients on wild mountains, the series is S / X version of Metro exodus allows you to transfer your save game from the Xbone edition, but not the PS5. Instead, 4A has added “Chapter Breaks” to the game in both versions so that you can jump into the game at any time from the start, and it turns achievements off. For Xbox players, old saved games become work and your equipment will be transferred, but you are still limited to inviting on one of those chapter changes. The developers suggest Play up to one of those from your previous version before taking the plunge.
This is all free to anyone who owns either version of the game, and includes all of the benefits listed below:
G / O Media can receive a commission
This could be the first time I regret taking the S series instead of the X series.
