Today, Microsoft announced that it is expanding its Game Pass Ultimate registration install "frames," additional purchases such as in-game currency and cosmetic packages for specific games available through the service. Though it is a small gesture, it is part of the company's ongoing effort to make its subscribers feel like they are getting their money's worth.
The first set of games to find oneself includes Phantasy Star Online 2, Land of Tanks: Mercenaries, Sea of Thieves, again Call. For example, in Phantasy Star Online 2, which is currently in beta, Ultimate Subscribers will receive additional Mass Messages for purchase and Mission Pass: Gold Ticket, a premium version of the combat game success. In Sea of Thieves, subscribers will receive new cosmetics on their ship, including a special one Ori And The Will Of The WaspsNone of these elements feel like a reason to sign up for Ultimate in the first place, but they can convince some people to try the games, use the rewards, and feel like the purchase was worth it.
Currently, Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Live Gold, Game Pass console, and Game Pass PC for $ 15 per month. Game Pass itself is $ 10 per month, while Game Pass for PC costs $ 5, and Xbox Live Gold varies depending on year-round subscriptions and what payments are available to third parties. Last year Microsoft also started giving Ultimate subscribers "early access" to new games such as Gears 5, while regular subscribers should wait until launch. Most games included in Game Pass require Xbox Live, making it difficult for you to subscribe to one and not the other.
Amazon did the same with Prince. For $ 120 a year, the package access service is free of charge for two days and you can plan your life properly and require a lot of orders to benefit. Throw in streaming more TV shows and movies on Amazon Prime though, and it's starting to feel easy to get your money's worth. As the benefits of subscribing to it continue to increase, I almost feel like I don't get my money right for my mistake.
There are months when I don't play any Xbox One games online, and months when I don't play any Game Pass games. Microsoft has no easy tool for managing small subscriptions, and I'm not going to try, so I pay Microsoft $ 180 per year for the impossible to calculate the exact amount of what seems appropriate for how many hours it doesn't it is possible spending playing the best Game Pass or those Xbox Live Gold games I always download but never seem to arrive.
