disease is finally here, and Marvel’s (living!) Vampire Doctor must contend with some personal demons in his debut film. But just because the film keeps things small doesn’t mean it can’t be tied into a larger world in one way or another.
While most disease rooted in the doctor’s battle against his own bloodthirst and Matt Smith’s villain, the post-credits broaden the scope a bit, settling in for an expansive future and a few familiar faces.
disease has two mid-credits scenes, one that takes place just after the credits begin to roll and another that happens a few minutes later. There is no scene at the very end of the credits.

disease‘ Post-credits scenes tie the film into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, similar to the teaser scene of Venom: Let there be carnage
The first of the film’s two Stingers cuts to a shot of New York City just as a giant purple tear appears in the sky – presumably the effect of Doctor Strange’s spell Spider-Man: No Way Home. We then cut to the inside of an empty prison cell just seconds before Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) appears inside from nowhere. He looks at himself in the mirror, apparently because he looks a bit different than before, but seems happy with whatever he finds. Then we see a brief news report stating that a man named Adrian Toomes has been found in an empty prison cell and will be released soon. It’s not really clear when this takes place in relation to the film’s plot.
The film’s second after-credits scene shows Morbius, long after the events of the film, driving a sports car in the middle of an open road with fields on either side. Suddenly, he ejects and feels his bat sonar tingling before Toomes’ Vulture emerges in a slightly modified version of his wingsuit Spider-Man: Homecoming
It seems pretty clear that these scenes are set up for a later Sinister Six film. As a matter of fact, disease Director Daniel Espinosa suggested this in one Interview with CinemaBlend. Thanks to a few jokes, we know that too disease takes place in the same universe as the events of the two Venom films. Thanks to the end Spider-Man: No Way Home, we also know that Eddie Brock is back in the same universe – that is, the Morbius universe that Vulture now lives in too. So Venom could be another possible member of the new team.
However, these scenes are extremely confusing, in large part because they appear unrelated to the film that came before them. They raise a number of unanswered questions.
For one thing, we know that Eddie Brock has also returned, but it seems that the news media somehow only knows about Toomes’ odd appearance, so it’s possible that not many people were involved or noticed the disappearance and reappearance. We also don’t know how this works, since Toomes seems to be the only person affected by Doctor Strange’s spell that didn’t end up in his own universe when it was undone.
After all, it’s not really clear if there’s a Spider-Man in this universe! The first couple disease The trailers featured posters of Spider-Man, but they weren’t actually present in the final film, so who knows exactly who this universe’s Sinister Six would actually be fighting.
Unfortunately, we’ll just have to wait for more Sinister Six news for now, but author Drew Goddard still expressed interest in the project in 2018.
