This is usually the summertime when we look ahead and leave San Diego Comic-Con with a slew of exciting new announcements for next year’s television shows. This year’s event was far more subdued due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. So instead of looking ahead, let’s look ahead to this TV week, which is full of highly anticipated new releases.
Netflix’s The Witcher returns for the latter part of season three and the final three episodes, starring Henry Cavill as Geralt before Liam Hemsworth takes over the role. Before he says goodbye, however, he must face the great fight that left him and Yen (Anya Chalotra) in Part 1 behind.
This week is also featured in major publications Good omens Season 2, the long-awaited (and very mysterious) Prime Video sequel to Season 1 (to be considered a ‘limited series’ upon release). On the one hand, it’s great news that David Tennant and Michael Sheen are back; On the other hand, there’s fantastic news that we’re getting to see more of Aziraphale and Crowley.
Other major adaptation news this week: Bent metal, the show starring Anthony Mackie based on the PlayStation games, also premieres (with its full season). While the original game didn’t have a lot of storyline, Peacocks is Bent metal gives the world a driving force and a buzz of action.
