Eating contest legends Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi will face each other live on Netflix for the first time in 15 years. Apparently, the streaming giant would rather spend money on it than [insert your favorite Netflix show that was canceled too soon here].

This may surprise you, but Netflix will begin hosting WWE content on its service next year and this event is basically a big promotional event for that. Could you tell? It’s pretty subtle.
“Wait a minute,” I hear you asking, “how does Netflix turn a single hot dog contest into an entire live streaming event?” Ahh, I’ve been wondering that too! Rob Riggle is a funny guy and can show off as well as anyone, but you can’t get that much entertainment out of two guys eating hot dogs. Don’t worry, Netflix has other things going on during the event, including a hot dog eating contest between pro eater Matt Stonie and three Olympic athletes.
