Hello, everyone,
We are aware of a potential gold replication exploit that is in circulation and we are temporarily disabling all forms of asset transfers between players (i.e. sending currency, guild treasury, trading post, player-to-player trading).
Any player who has participated in the use of this exploit will be prosecuted.
Once the gold duplication exploit has been investigated and we are ready to turn the wealth transfer back on, we will update this post.
Thank you for your understanding.
That is certainly one way to get your economy back on track. And good luck with the whole “Any player who participated in the use of this exploit will be punished because I will assume that the exploit will be open and public for that long the A lot of people took advantage of it.
The exploit was first discovered over the weekendwhen players found out they can use HTML in the game’s chat boxes to run code. While they initially enjoyed themselves spamming pictures of things like sausages, soon found that the exploit allowed them to perform even more malicious actions, such as kicking other players.
It was then discovered that players could win by fooling the game into thinking they had just received an item that would trigger a quest completion condition Gold by just dumping some HTML code and doing it over and over again. This is fun for the individual player, but it can be derailed the managed economy of an online video game, hence the intervention.
