Otterboxhas partnered with Microsoft to collaborate with Microsoft on a new range of clips, cases and grips that will help you get the most out of mobile game services like Xbox Game Streaming and Apple Arcade.
Otterbox has been making rugged cases for mobile devices since cell phones and tablets needed protection. Now this protection is extended to Xbox One and X / S controllers. While the focus is mostly on mobile gaming, you don’t have to focus on streaming Xbox games to your phone to appreciate the $ 40 easy-grip controller shell. It’s a hard plastic frame that snaps into place over your Xbox One or Xbox Series X / S controller, leaving room for access to the ports and battery bay. The grooves on the handle should allow air to flow through, which should act as a kind of air conditioning and reduce perspiration. The case comes with two handles, one with three grooves on each side and one with eight.
I’ve been playing with the “Dreamscape” color shown for a few days, and while I can’t tell whether my hands feel cooler or not, my controller definitely feels more protected. I just wish I got it in black “Dark Web” or purple “Galactic Dream”.

On the mobile gaming side, there’s the new $ 30 mobile gaming clip, a device that clips onto your controller to hold your phone. These things have been around for years. The version of Otterbox can be easily attached to the controller without affecting important buttons or connections. There is a single quick-release lever on the back of the clip that locks and unlocks the hinges, making it quick and easy to change the phone angle. It’s certainly one of the better clips I’ve tried.
When not in use, your Xbox controller and clip will easily fit in the $ 45 gaming carry case. It’s a chic black clamshell zippered bag with enough space for a controller, the gaming clip, additional batteries, cables or whatever else the mobile gaming person needs to play mobile games. It’s damn chic. It even has a cable charging passageway, and at the top is a small fold-out stand that holds a phone in place.
The company also offers a $ 55 Easy Grip gaming case that has grooves on the inside to keep an iPhone and possibly Android devices from overheating during gaming sessions. Most impressive of all is the $ 50 worth of Gaming Glass Privacy Guard, a horizontally-oriented privacy screen that keeps prying eyes from seeing your phone display.
All of this game equipment can be pre-ordered at Otterbox Gaming website on January 25th with shipping from mid-February.
