The win condition for both sides is: Reinhardt must either get 30 kills or the opposing team must defeat him three times. It sounds unbalanced, but Reinhardt is ridiculously beefed up in this mode. With over 6,000 health points, he can take a rush of sustained damage and still remain steadfast. I played a match as Orisa, and even loading entire clips into Reinhardt felt like I wasn’t even making a dent in his armor. As a Demon Lord, he’s a force of nature, and while a coordinated team can overpower him, Reinhardt can more than hold his own when outnumbered.
On paper, there are some interesting conversions from the tried and tested over watch The mechanics are on-going here, but in the larger context of the game’s state, something as insignificant as “defeat the demon lord” doesn’t feel like it Overwatch 2 do his best. Blizzard finds itself in a situation where the game it promised in 2019 isn’t what we have in 2023, and what’s left of it has left even its most staunch defenders in bad taste.
