The newest Overwatch Held is playable starting today for a limited time. Junoa support hero that Blizzard announced last year. BlizzConbrings a futuristic flair to the hero shooter when she joins the ranks of heroes as part of Season 12, which starts on August 20. Based on Juno’s reveal trailer, it already looks like she will shake up the meta and her fellow players Support heroes unemployed.
Juno’s Hero trial The period gives players the chance to try out her kit from July 19 (that’s today) to July 21. The only game mode the test hero is excluded from is Competitive Play. If you’re worried you won’t be able to try Juno out for yourself over the weekend, be sure to play No Limits mode, as you can pick any character there, even if a teammate has already picked them. I don’t think you’ll get the best idea of what impact she’ll have on the meta by playing with a bunch of Junos running around, but you’ll at least get a feel for her kit.
Based on the trailer, it looks like Juno will be an incredibly mobile support character, threatening to make more than one current hero obsolete. Juno’s main attack is a burst-fire pistol that heals and damages allies, which sounds like a mix of the functionality of Ana’s rifle and the feel of Mercy’s pistol. As for secondary fire, Juno has homing missiles that also heal or damage other heroes accordingly. She can also glide, hover, and double jump to get around the map, and drop a ring that increases allies’ movement. This makes her sound like one of the most mobile characters the game has had yet, and many Check out elements of Phara, Lucio, and Mercy in her kit. Finally, her ultimate, Orbital Ray, boosts allies’ damage while also healing.
Overall, Juno is seen by many as a possible replacement for characters like Mercy, Lucio, and Kiriko due to her mobility, healing, and even DPS potential. Support mains curious about Juno’s kit and how it might make their hero of choice a little less appealing should try her out for themselves while her trial is available.
