The escapeThe 21st season of competition continues today, and with Blizzard's new approach to putting together a meta shooter game: heroic rejection. The four heroes – Baptist, Hanzo, Mai and Orisa – have been temporarily locked up for competitive play, a move that Blizzard hopes will create a change in the meta.
Blizzard announced its launch plan for Hero Pools back in January. Hero Pools goes live on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One game types on Thursday. Use The escape website, the company said it plans to disable "one tank, one support and two damage heroes … from the weekly list with the aim of keeping new meta and encouraging the diversity of sports heroes."
“Every week when players come in The escape, it's going to be a slightly different game, " The escape Basic game designer Scott Mercer said “There will be different types. What we're trying to deal with is the feeling that the game isn't changing fast enough. This is one of the parts – and the more aggressive changes – that help make it happen The escape a recurring game.
“Most players find a game that is always productive. They don't always want to play the same heroes and songs. When they feel like the meta is getting tight, it's not fun for them. We try to do this to make our game more fun to play and watch. ”
While it can be a difficult adjustment for May and Hanzo's miles out there, Mercer assures players that "you won't see what's available more than two weeks in a row" in a competitive tournament.
Overwatch League's Hero Pool Rules will differ from the list of curated weeks of heroes banned from competitive play in a standard game. With pro-level gaming, Blizzard will look at which of the most-played heroes in the Overwatch League, and disable the heroes based on that.
"In the Overwatch League, analysts will look at the data in the last two weeks of hero play data, and if a hero is played more than 10 percent of the time, it is worth taking a change," Mercer said. “For example, of all the tanks played more than 10 percent of the time between 3 and 4 weeks, one was chosen randomly and will be taken interchangeably in the fifth week. The same will happen with two casualty heroes and one support hero.
“Since the heroes are getting used to being so widely used, I don't know if you will ever see someone like Torbjörn take out the rotation. But you never know! ”
Hero pools will not be affected The escapeOther alternatives, such as fast play and arcade.
