Overwatch 2 newest hero, Ramattra, is an omnic robot that largely disregards traditional human notions of shape and form. But someone at Blizzard decided that that didn’t have to be the case with their new skin for the game Event inspired by Greek mythologyand they gave him human feet.
Ramattra’s skin is based on Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. It comes complete with a trident emote, tentacles that grow out of his back when he transforms into his armored Nemesis form, and two sets of five little pigs courtesy of his new human feet. Blizzard doesn’t seem content to just consider this an unfortunate knowledge that we all have and can forget unless we’re actively playing surveillance 2
The strange thing is over watch has a bizarre, enduring fascination with feet, both in-game and in its community, and people were quick to recall whoever runs the game’s social media in the comments. One answer contained a table of all heroes’ feet over watch has shown (although it could need to be updated as this is the original game, not the sequel).
Another infamous example of the over watch Community that competed was a user named Tyrone who spent a lot of time on it in the game forums Ask for emotes, highlight intros, and skins that would reveal specific characters’ feet — though no one knows what happened to them. Hopefully nothing is amiss and Tyrone is fine.
Despite all this, while several characters have walked barefoot towards the payload in the past, Sigma, the final tank character, has been added Overwatch’s Roster before moving on to his sequel, is perhaps the most notorious for letting the dogs breathe because it’s a near-constant to his character. Originally, the swimming, rock-throwing scientist left his shoes in the frame of a questionable design choice intended to depict how patients in psychiatric institutions often go barefoot to mitigate self-injury from shoelaces. In the years since and with surveillance 2 With a full refresh of characters’ interactions, Sigma’s bare feet have become the subject of several jokes, such as: B. Widowmaker remarked that someone should get him shoes after landing a kill.
So over watch and his community’s fascination with feet continues well into 2023, and now they’ve dragged Ramattra down those sinful paths. He’s an innocent robot. He did not deserve that. Haven’t we suffered enough, as he himself says in the game?
