Pokemon Go is hosting a Teddiursa Community Day event November 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time.
As expected at a Community Day event, teddyursa appears in large numbers with a high chance of appearing shiny. There are also several other bonuses and perks which we list below.
How do I catch a shiny Teddiursa?
According to research by Pokémon community website The Silph RoadShiny rates on Community Days are around 1 in 24, meaning you should find some Shiny Pokémon if you keep playing during the three-hour window.
If you’re short on time or Pokéballs, you can pop one incensethen quickly Tap each Teddiursa to look for shiny ones and run away from all that aren’t shiny. It’s worth noting that any Teddiursa you’ve already tapped will point to where your player is standing, so this should help identify which ones you may have already checked.
What Community Day move does Teddiursa’s Evolution learn?
If you evolve Teddiursa into Ursaluna from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, it will learn the charged move High Horsepower.
If you miss evolving it during this period, you can probably evolve it to get High Horsepower during a Community Day weekend event in December. If you don’t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM to catch the train.
How is Ursaluna doing in the meta?
Due to its moveset, Ursaluna is not suitable for either PvP or PvE combat. While high horsepower is strong, the lack of strong fast movements makes it a bench press at the moment. For a full analysis by expert JRE47, head over to The Silph Road subreddit.
We recommend snagging a few with High Horsepower in hopes of more moves being added to the moveset in the future.
How do I make the most of Teddiursa Community Day?
The following bonuses are active during Litwick Community Day:
- Triple Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Double candy for catching Pokémon
- Double the chance for level 31+ Trainers to get XL Candy when catching Pokémon
- Incense lasts three hours
- Lure Modules lasts three hours
- Teddiursa special photo bombs when taking photos
- An additional special trade
- Stardust cost to trade halved
That means you should definitely pop a Star Piece and an Incense and try to grab some powerful Teddiursa.
If you can Mega Evolve Pidgeot, Kandashhan, or Lopunnyget extra Dratini Candy per catch.
Additionally, Niantic is still running special four-star raids from 5pm to 10pm where Teddiursa spawns in a 300m radius around the gym for 30 minutes when you complete the Ursaring raid. These raids cannot be conducted remotely. If the usual 2-5 p.m. spawn increase doesn’t get you the Teddiursa you want, you can try raiding for another chance.
