As a fan of Japanese role, it is difficult to not be satisfied with the way the genre has developed in recent years. And thanks to the enormous success of the Great Series, the developers dared to risk the least known and to record many shocks and darker remakes. Asked Kaitos I II HD Remaster, Star Ocean: The second story R, The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered and Romance Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven, to name just a few of the past few years. Now Lunar's Turn: Silver Star Story Complete from 1996 and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete 1998 in a collection called Lunar Remastered Collection.
Both games were already in 1992 and 1994 with the title of the same name, which is not complete. In short, these two games both have classic JRPG and you can imagine. In addition, both are good games of the genre and earn it to be played without being at the same level as the best games of that time. They are played in the same world, but every 1000 years. You don't have to play the first game to understand the second, even though history has an easy connection. However, this is not a problem if you buy the collection because you get both games.
Both Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue do something that is difficult to achieve, which is not boring or repeated, although all game systems are very simple. For example the switching struggle system. You can use something to recover, defend or flee between a normal attack with your weapon, a magical attack (or the healing of magic for this type of characters). There are no complicated spells or complicated systems. It is very easy to understand. However, you can use the Autrider in which the game controls everything if you don't want to penetrate everything. This is very useful when enemies are not so strong and they want to go through quickly. In order to speed up the experience, it is also possible to increase the speed of the battles to triple the normal. I decided to do this because the battles otherwise seemed unnecessarily slowly.

Of course, stories are not revolutionary. A random young man is “the chosen one” and has to save the world from an evil that has decided after x number of years. That means the story is not bad, let alone, it is just a recurring format of other games. What the balance is inclined to the good side are the characters. Both games are full of unforgettable characters, all of which were presented with their own scene in anime style. Something that really highlight the moon games between the crowd. Today we are used to seeing endless scenes in which parts of the story are developed. Here, however, we have shorter sequences that show the characters' personalities. Because it is not always easy to understand personalities when the appearance of the characters is basically two eyes, clothes and hair.
Silver Star Story, the first game of the series, is about Alex and Luna. Alex Idolatra to the former dragon master (one of the four historic heroes) and strives to become the next dragon master. This means that you find dragons all over the world and have to obtain your consent. Of course it is easier to say it than to do it. Of course, it turns out that it is a new dragon teacher to save the world. Luna, on the other hand, is a talent singer that people start to recognize that it is something special. What she acts actually plays an important role in history. They are accompanied by many characters, who of course are enthusiastic about the Japanese role. Of course there is magicians, fighters and doctors, but everyone has their own story, which she drops well. Eternal Blue plays in the same world, but a thousand years in the future. People have almost forgotten the events of the first game and played again as a young man with adventure rooms. Of course it is the time for an evil character that wants to destroy the world. Nothing new under the sun. Here, too, it is a good story with a fairly standard content in relation to the Japanese role.

But that's a remaster. So what really changed about 30 years ago? Before I mentioned the possibility of acceleration of battles, there are also other quality of life. For example, the characters now have a common inventory of objects that they can use during battles. In the original, a character had to have an object personally – for example a medication – to be able to use it. Now everyone can use the same objects. If you want to play with the original system, you can do it too. Now it can also be a good time to mention that both games can be played in their original versions. If you start the game, you can choose between playing with a remaster or the original games. Something we usually don't see. To be honest, the graphics didn't touch much. Which was not necessary. Remaster is located on the panorama screen instead of in 4: 3 format.
The Remastered Collection from Lunar is a great example of “not repairing what is not broken”. There was no attempt to rebuild the game to make it more attractive to the modern public. Everything is basically the same as the originals with a few small improvements that improve experience, but also small enough to fit into the games from 30 years ago. Both Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Moon 2: Eternal Blue Complete are Japanese role that is worth playing. They are of great quality, although in the end it does not achieve the level of the best games of the genre.
