First there was Spiderman‘s infamous Puddlegate. Then there were the not-so-watery streets of Cyberpunk 2077. Now, it seems that the next watery controversy ahead of the release from video game fans involves the heavy rain seen in some early gameplay of the Resident Evil 4 make new. Some say it looks just as bad as them terrible looking rain GTA trilogy remasters. Others are convinced that it is just video compression. And remember: none of them have actually played the game yet.

It has been rumored for some time Resident Evil 4 was officially announced by Capcom back in June 2022. This new remake will Update game controls and combat, while retaining the same basic story and characters. Once again, players will play as Leon as he travels to a rural part of Western Europa to save the President’s daughter and gets caught up in a whole lot of campy, horrific shenanigans. But based on newly released gameplay by game informantsome resident Evil Fans seem to think that Leon’s biggest threat won’t be huge monsters or infected villagers, but lackluster rain.

Via Reddit And Twitterdo you think …? Find many players WHO I hate the rain in the game in the upcoming remake. While I’m not sure who first raised these concerns online, they quickly spread through the community. Some have even suggested The Rain looks just as bad as the notorious terrible rain seen in the critically beaten Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Definitive Edition. This rain looked so bad that it made the game almost unplayable during storms and was eventually improved by the developers via a post-release patch.

Anyway, here’s the reissue RE4‘s rain causing such a kerfuffle:

Capcom / Game Informant

I fully admit that I watched this footage twice game informant I first posted the video and didn’t think anything of it because of the rain. But even in the comments on YouTube, you can find people concerned about how intense and distracting it is.

my city has contacted Capcom about the weather in the upcoming remake.

Others think that people are too picky and that the real problem isn’t the rain, but YouTube’s terrible video compression. I’m inclined to think that YouTube’s compression definitely doesn’t help this rain look good, but I can also see how some may find the large and distinct white drops of water to be too much.

Of course, since this is the internet and the players, some people are going too far and suggesting that the developers are lazy or that this is a sign that the entire game is going to be a huge, rushed “money heist”. This is completely silly and silly. Remember: none of us have played the game that isn’t even finished yet.

Resident Evil 4 will be released on March 24, 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Maybe it should include a rain intensity slider.
