Scott Morrison video game brings former Prime Minister to Centrelink

The people of Australia had a very good time over the weekend, when we noisily voted out a conservative government

who’d spent a decade doing this… well, nothing really, except for the poor, the young, and anyone who thinks a rapidly warming planet might be a bad thing to have their boots to their throats.

Whilst I am sure there will be no shortage of fossil fuel companies, predatory investment funds and fascist-leaning media outlets offering him a job in the coming months, in the meantime he is unemployed and if you are out of work in Australia, that means one thing above all: a visit to Centrelink.

Centelink is the government agency theoretically supposed to provide welfare for the unemployed, but has been ideologically undermined to the point that it is now openly hostile to the unemployed at an operational level, forcing Australians out of work to jump through all sorts of degrading hoops just so they can it can (try and) pay their rent for a month or two between jobs.
