Just last year, the future of judgement The series looked extremely uncertain due to a legal battle over star Takuya Kimura’s likeness. Looks like that’s all settled, because both games aren’t just coming to PC, they’re already there.
As we reported in 2021:
According to the weekly publication Nikkan Taishua Japanese entertainment insider is quoted as saying that the forthcoming Lost Judgment will be the last entry in the series. “Because,” explains the insider, “those on the game developer’s side and those on the of [Kimura’s talent agency] Johnny’s is said to be unable to reach an agreement on the platforms to sell the game.”
Today, however, it’s all water under the bridge, because both are 2018s judgement and its sequel in 2021, Lost Judgmentare now available and available to purchase on Steam.
That is Fantastic News! I reviewed both games for my boxand had a great time with both of them. Here are my final thoughts on the original:
Playing Judgment and Yakuza is like looking at the same photo – in this case the streets of Kamurocho – through two different filters. The presentation might be slightly different and the tone a little different when you compare them, but the underlying image is identical, from their geography to their face.
The Yakuza formula, so unchanged here under the additions of detective distractions, is still a very good one, despite its age. I really enjoyed my time with Judgment, partly because I was excited about the new, more human cast, but mostly because I took the basic yakuza building blocks of “banging traffic cones in ribs” coupled with “a soap opera about angry guys.” “ still persist good fun.

A number of games from 2K have been bundled together. You can pay whatever you want to support the cause, but if you want access to some of the big hits like Borderlands 3, The Bioshock Collection, XCOM: The Ultimate Collection, and Sid Meier’s Civilizatrion VI, you’ll need to pay at least $16. But hey, that’s hardly anything compared to the $663 value you get from all 18 games combined.
and Here’s my review of the sequelwhat’s even better:
If you own a PC, you’ve been curious about it from afar yakuza series but don’t know where to start or if you even should, I’m going to be bold here and suggest that these games in 2022 might actually be the best place to start. They’re smaller, more focused experiences, they’re free from the burdens of the main series’ lore, and the action-based combat here is more enjoyable than ever yakuza games.
They’re among my favorite PlayStation games of the past five years and now that they’re coming to PC – and Sega’s more recently yakuza Ports was pretty good – it’s now an instant favorite of mine on PC too.
