While we are going to the season finale of the next week, I understand the frustration better that some viewers agree to Compensation'S Tempo in his second season. We are nine episodes in and not much happened. There were several character -driven episodes in a row and not much movement on the main secret, and we are an episode of the show that brings another break. In view of the three -year -old gap between seasons one and two, I can understand that we will reach the end of this season without learning so much. But the penultimate episode of the relay, “The After Hours”, felt like a necessary piece of house connections, so that the show can be free to concentrate almost exclusively on its superior secret and how protagonists Mark (Adam Scott) and Helly (Britt Lower). This means that we spent a lot of time with the rest of the ensemble and have completed numerous storylines with a number of devastating conclusions. I am a bit amazed, we have not received complete episodes for these characters like the one Patricia Arquette's Harmony Cobel Have last weekBut God, the conclusion of Compensation'S slowly burned old love story between Irving (John Turturro) and Burt (Christopher Walken) sent me to a continuing emotional spiral that I did not recover from.
How do the makers make of Compensation Exciting you that I will watch too long, how these two men come to the abyss, to run away together and escape Lumon's clutches, only so that Burt Irving says emphatically and repeatedly that she says that she tip? I come in front of me. But the picture of Irving and Burt's Outies who stand on the forehead in a train station is burned into my brain. As we came here, it turned out that the theories of the fans that Burt's Outie was actually a hidden agent who worked for Lumon. As he explains Irving, he has been working with the company for many years and contributes to disappearing enemies of his interests. After both Irving's Invings and Outie have examined the company's corruption, the man in whom his Invisory fell in love with is a crosshairs. He received the command to deliver Irving somewhere to be treated discreetly, as he has done many Lumon's enemies over the years.
While I sympathize with those who feel that Compensation'S greater secrets have moved a little too slowly. I wonder if some spectators are fixed to the question of what the main line -up on the separated soil does that they lose these micro secrets that help build the world through the lens of people in it. In episode 6, “Attila”, Burt, Irving and Burt's Outie husband everyone fell as to whether Innys and Outies had different souls or not that could rise to heaven regardless of what the other personality had done. People rightly assumed that Burt worked with Lumon, but what could he have done, that would make him so sure that he would not see the pearl -colored goals that he would halve his brain in the hope that part of him would reach the sky while the other burned for eternity? It turns out that Lumon contributes to the fact that anyone who worsened it illuminates a person.
But now he has met with the person in which this innocent version fell in love with, and he was ordered to hand over it somewhere for the shameful purposes of the company. After he has followed Lumon's command for years, he finally hesitates, instead of leaving Irving, where he was told, he takes him and his hundred to a train station, gives him a one-way ticket and tells him that he should not tell where he is going. Burt cannot know where Irving's stop is, because as long as he does not do, the man in whom his Invisor falls in love will be safe.
If that was not devastating enough for itself, Irving's own confession in the fetal position rolled me together on the floor. Before he gets on the train, he says Burt that he has never been loved before, not really. But at the age of 60, it is painful for him to know that he once felt it and cannot remember it, and he wants Burt give them the chance to feel this connection in this life. The scene reflects you from the first season in which Burt and Irving Innies decide that they cannot get involved with “Brotherhood”, and Irving says that he is “not ready” to break Lumon's rules. When you saw the roles the other way around and begged Irving Burt, giving them the chance to climb together on this train and see where things go, the kind of devastating fear that they rarely find outside of AO3 creates.
Irving says he wants to remember the love that they felt on the separated soil for each other, but I can imagine that he would break his heart to know that this version gave him the opportunity to love and be loved. In the end, the entire version of Irving is the image that he shaped in his head, what a life with Burt could have looked. Compensation Was always for the year, but I can't lie, I was hoping and prayed for a shot Burt, who rings on the train to Irving and escaped Lumon's claws alongside the love of his innies. But it never came.
If this show had come out 10 years ago, the version would probably have been annoyed by me that the strange love story ended as tragically as Compensation is about to publish a season finale in which he puts the straight leads in the foreground. But the longer I have lived, the more queer loves stories like Burt and Irving stories from me that capture reality that most relationships do not end well. Statistically speaking, more of us deal with heartache from uninterested partners, the right person at the wrong time and found that we have wasted many hours to take the next step than with happier afterwards. The greatest and most passionate love stories often end with someone on a one -way street to God, where. I imagine we saw the last of Irving CompensationAnd it is fitting that Burt was the one who ensured that he got a second chance. Wherever he rises from this train, I hope that he will not waste the time when it was given on the separated soil.
