Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, the newest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will not be available on Disney Plus Premier Access the day it hits theaters. Instead, the film will be part of an “interesting experiment,” says Disney CEO Bob Chapek, which hits theaters on September 3rd but comes to Disney Plus just 45 days after it hits theaters. Disney announced it this Thursday during its quarterly investor call.
July Black widow debuted the same day on both Disney Plus Premier Access and in theaters. The day-and-date strategy turned out to be quite successful for Black widow
“We will always do what is best for the film and what is best for our constituents,” says Chapek.
