PlayStation has revealed several new trailers for a variety of indies on Thursday mornings. The blog posts ranged from unveiling PlayStation versions of upcoming titles to introducing new trailers for existing games.
Here’s a look at all seven PlayStation indies highlighted on Thursday.
Wytchwood
Wytchwood
The developers describe the game as “chill,” and the suggestion seems to be that, while the witch is trying to do good, she is primarily interested in helping people leave them alone. Assignable!
Wytchwood will be released this fall for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Sun coat of arms
Sun coat of arms is a vertically scrolling shooter of platinum games and an official sequel to the 1980s Moon coat of arms and Terra Cresta Games. Platinum was originally developed by Nihon Bussan and has taken the ideas of the franchise around docking with allied ships to create a modern Cresta game.
Sun coat of arms Functions “Dock-and-split” systemthat allows players to combine their ship squads to create new attacks. And different combinations will change the behavior of the Voltron-like ships.
Sun coat of arms will be released for PlayStation 4 later this year.
A short hike
A short hike is a game about hiking and flying by Adam Robinson-Yu. Players control Claire, a bird capable of freely exploring rural mountain slopes on the ground or from the air. She will meet a multitude of new friends on her adventure.
The game also features a collection of mini-games like beach volleyball to distract Claire on her journey.
Originally released in 2019 on Windows PC, A short hike will be released on PlayStation 4 this fall.
Oxfree 2
Oxfree 2 is a continuation from 2016 Oxfree by Night School Studio and is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The original Oxfree was a paranormal story about a ghostly signal and a dimensional rift.
Oxfree 2 sees players adopt a new character, Riley, to investigate another mystery. The game will play out similarly to the first, with its conversational system controlling the gameplay.
Oxfree 2 coming “soon” on PS4 and PS5.
Carrion
Carrion, Phobia Game Studio’s super scary monster blob game from last year, is coming to PlayStation. The game is already available for Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Xbox One.
Our Carrion Review received the “Polygon Recommends” badge from our own Toussaint Egan, who called it a “body horror masterpiece”.
Carrion will make its PlayStation debut later this year.
Hades
Hades, Polygons Game of the Year 2021, hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next week. Supergiant Games has posted a 24-minute run on the PlayStation Blog to show players the great graphics running on one of Sony’s systems.
Hades is a roguelite game with a focus on story. It follows Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he tries to escape the underworld and find his mother.
Supergiant will start Hades for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X on August 13th.
Axiom edge 2
Axiom Rand 2 is a continuation of the 2015 Metroid likes. The game’s sole developer, Tom Happ, launched a new trailer for the PlayStation Blog that features a variety of powers that players can acquire during their adventure.
But Happ had another revelation: Axiom Rand 2 are two worlds in one. The entire map of the game also has an alternate dimension. Players can switch between dimensions to discover new secrets and advance the game’s story.
Axiom Rand 2 should be released this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC.
